A runner collapsed during the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon and was pronounced dead at the Kuala Lumpur hospital due to cardiac arrest. It was reported that the ambulance and medics arrived twenty minutes late and lacked medical equipment inside the ambulance.
I hope this does not happen to any runners here in our country and this is a big reminder to all Event Organizers that an Ambulance and the Emergency Medical Team has to be present and alert during a race in case something happened like this.
For the 34th National MILO® Marathon, part of the registration fee of every participant will be allotted to help provide rubber shoes to one public school per city in the different places of the country where the races will be held.
