Introducing Dynamic Fit for unparalleled comfort and performance for every athlete

Philippines, DATE – A different pair of feet, a different shoe mould, a different fit but the same dream experience. The LunarEclipse+ 2 is set to offer runners the perfect customized fit with the introduction of Dynamic Fit Technology.

Created in Nike’s Innovation Kitchen and Sports Research Lab, Dynamic Fit is designed to eliminate the space between the foot and the shoe for a customized fit that feels like the ‘second skin,’ no matter the foot size or shape. Dynamic Fit technology features soft material that wraps like fingers around the mid-foot and arch for a glove-like fit. The perfect fit can be achieved with a simple motion of tightening the laces, which are connected to the Dynamic Fit mid-foot cage for the perfect wrap.

Pushing innovation limits to help runners achieve their full potential, the LunarEclipse+2 also features ultra-soft Lunarlon cushioning for a smooth ride and the innovative Dynamic Support stability system that works in tandem with the Lunarlon cushioning to for an easy, gradual transition and a smooth ride.

Dynamic Support is a two-part midsole system working in tandem with the ultra-plush Lunarlon cushioning to provide stability and support. Opposing wedges of foam move the runner from soft to stable as the heel lands and the foot flexes down, providing for an easy, gradual transition and a smooth ride. The Fitsole 4 sockliner provides extra support and comfort by combining two densities of foam – one more resilient, one a little softer for increased smooth transition.
Marrying art and innovation, Nike partnered renowned make up and body paint artist Joanne Gair to bring to life the concept of ‘second skin.’ A natural collaboration choice, Joanne Gair embodies the same passion and attention to detail in honing her craft, mirroring Nike’s own obsession over every aspect of craft and design.

*Joanne Gair painting the LunarEclipse+2 on model’s bare feet.

To complete the runner’s attire, the Hurricane Vapor Jacket (Men’s) and the Cyclone Vapor Jacket (Women’s) are the perfect complements to every runner’s wardrobe as we exit the tail end of the monsoon season that plagues the region.

Both the Hurricane Vapor Jacket and the Cyclone Vapor Jacket are designed to protect runners from the rain and wind without the extra warmth of a heavy jacket. The light sheer fabric shell made of ripstop fabric is internally flocked (fibres adhered to the surface in a pattern) to maximize breathability by preventing the jacket from sticking to the skin.

Showcasing innovative attention to detail, the lower-back pocket on both jackets serve as both storage and on-the-go option when the runner wants to pack the jacket into itself.

The LunarEclipse+2 will be available in stores in Southeast Asia from January 13, 2012, in the following countries:
* Indonesia, IND 1, 6999, 000
* Malaysia, MYR 519
* Singapore, SGD 239
* Thailand, THB 5, 400

The iconic three-stripe brand, adidas, proudly launches the fourth installment of the Philippine Range collection. Featuring jackets and t-shirts that are playing on the Philippine flag’s trademark colors, adidas offers a fresh and modern take on the Philippine Range collection with its minimalist design.

Blue, red, white, with a few touches of yellow – this month, wear these colors with pride as the adidas Philippine Range collection makes for a major street cred-worthy look. adidas yet again showcases their attention to details as the patriotic line is simple and not too literal when it comes to their design aesthetic.

Go all in on Filipino pride as the collection features stylized Pilipinas seals and statement tees while also donning three bold stripes running down on its sleeve. Tiny details, reminiscent of the flag, are also found where three stars and a sun lie on its urban designs. The adidas logo is then stitched at the front. Complementing the premium jackets, the round-neck statement T-shirts feature the same clean and nationalistic chic design elements.

The adidas Philippine range collection originally debuted in 2007. Continuously celebrating individuality, adidas let’s you express your eagerness to express your national identity and gives you the opportunity to hold your head up high with swagger confidence. The adidas Philippine Range is available at adidas stores nationwide.
MANILA, October 23 – The adidas King of the Road (KOTR) came to a vibrant and colorful close at the Bonifacio Global City grounds as thousands of participants fought to the finish as they vied for the ‘adidas Southeast Asia King of the Road 2011’ crown.

Exemplifying the brand’s exceptional commitment to sport, the adidas KOTR has unified runners from all around Asia – with participants from Thailand, then Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The race then culminated here in its first ever host country, making Philippines the ultimate race destination. Represented through the variety of different coloured adidas singlets, the multi-colour showcase is meant to demonstrate the vibrancy of the sports scene across Southeast Asia.

The adidas KOTR was a testament to the keen and enthusiastic participants overflowing with energy as early as three in the morning as they prepare for the very first gunstart at 5AM. With three different categories varying from 5K, to 16.8K and 21K, the routes make for an enjoyable and pleasant race day. adidas definitely delivered the race of a lifetime, creating an experience where runners not only challenged themselves but also achieved personal breakthroughs. Celebrities who made personal breakthroughs in this race are Robi Domingo, Rich Hardin, and Karylle . Even Iza Calzado, Will DeVaughn, Kim Atienza, and Rovilson Fernandez went all in with at the adidas King of the Road race.

The 16.8K category is the most distinctive signature distance this year as winners from the previous legs in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia were flown in to represent their countries. Taking home the King of the Road 2011 crowns are I Gusti Gede Karang Asem with a running time of 57:58 and Mary Joy Tabal with a runnning time of 1:04:44 for our 16.8K Southeast Asian winners, David Mutai with a running time of 54:41 and Esthar Karimi with a running time of 1:02:07 for the 16.8K Open Category; John Philip Duenas with a running time of 54:41 for the 16.8K Closed Category; Kimbert Sarmiento with a running time of 15:59 for the 5K Category; and Frederick Mwingirwa Mathiu with a running time of 1:10:12 for the 21K Category.

With the availability of premium running products and training platforms, adidas provides runners with the tools needed for a better run—whether it’s finishing the first marathon or breaking a personal best. From the adiNation of Runners, a running community formed to help motivate and train running enthusiasts to train together on a weekly basis; to the launch of the adidas miCoach virtual training system, nothing else gets a runner more prepared for a race than adidas. Race analysis and photos will be made available 3 weeks after the race day at http://runrio.com/. For more information and updates, participants may continuously check http://www.adidaskingoftheroad.com/or visit http://www.facebook.com/adidasPhilippines .

What is the KOTR Ipico Card?
IPICO’s dual-frequency, shoe-mounted RFID tags are easy to use, quick to collect and adidas’ top choice for the adidas King of the Road 2011.

The Ipico system works using a shoe-mounted plastic tag that is approximately half the size and similar thickness to a credit card. The tag is tied into the shoelaces and each time it passes over one of the blue Ipico timing mats, the tag ID and exact time of passing are recorded in the Ipico Elite reader box and transferred to KOTR’s timing software for processing.

It is important that the tag is flat and tied to the shoelaces correctly throughout the event.

This custom made KOTR Ipico Card is yours to keep and can be used for the following adidas KOTR races for 2-3 more years. Leave the finish line area and keep this KOTR Ipico Card as your KOTR souvenir, a great piece of memorabilia to display along with your finishers medallion.

How about hydration and safety?
The KOTR will have water stationg installed every 1.5km along the race path, ensuring every runner to hydrate as necessary. In total, there are 14 water stations, 14 Powerade stations, and strategically located at the 21k race route are 2 sponge stations, and 1 banana station.

On first aid, the KOTR is fully equipped with first aid teams to attend to runners needing assistance. There are a total of 15 ambulances, 15 medic stations, and 11 medics roving on bicycles. There will also be marshals – police men, traffic aids, and radio communicators manning various points at the race path.
