Whiterock Triathlon 2012 Swim/Bike/Run

Swim  The swim leg is a 2-km multi-lap course at the beachfront of the White Rock Water Park and Beach Hotel into Subic Bay. Swimming lines, safety markers and buoys line the course. Kayak guides, safety marshals and lifeguards on jetskis and on the shoreline are deployed to ensure fair play and participants safety.

Features: anchored swim buoy lines, multi-loop course, jetski patrols, kayak guides.

Bike  The 91-kilometer bike course will pass through several towns of Zambales – Subic, Castillejos, San Marcelino, San Narciso, San Felipe and Cabangan. Riding north from Subic, riders eventually turn-around at Cabangan and then head back. The asphalt road is relatively flat and in excellent condition. Although there is no full road closure, the best efforts are made to ensure the safety of everyone – traffic and safety marshals are deployed in major junctions and critical areas. Riders are hereby advised to exercise due caution and bear a road sharing mentality.

Features: flat and smooth road, police motorcycle escort, water stations at strategic locations, mobile medical support, and a 45-km turn-around station (supplied with isotonic drinks, bananas, ice and water, medical aid and special needs bags).

Run  The run course is 20 kilometers long and covers portions of the road from Subic Town towards Olongapo,

eventually entering the Subic Bay Freeport Zone then heads back. This course choice allows for a better managed local traffic flow and better logistical support. Like the bike course, there is no full road closure but runners are again assured that best efforts are made to ensure the safety of everyone. Runners are also reminded to exercise due caution and bear a road sharing mentality.

Features: Rolling course, water stations every 2.5 km (supplied with isotonic drinks, ice and water), sponging stations in between water stations, and a run turn-around station (supplied with isotonic drinks, bananas, ice and water, medical aid and special needs bags).
